OUR LITTLE TACKERS SAILING PROGRAM

At Largs Bay Sailing Club we are family focused, professional and use highly qualified instructors to help our juniors to step out of their comfort zone in a safe environment, gain self-confidence and most of all... have fun while learning to sail. 

There is no better way to come for a sail in a pacer, then with one of our instructors and learn about the parts of the boat, safety on and off the water and build sailing confidence.

Our Saturday Morning Program runs over 16 weeks, including 2 Terms.

Term 1: October 17th 2026 to 5th December 2026
Term 2: 30th January 2027 to 3rd April 2027 
(excluding 6th March for LWE & 27th March for EASTER)

Age: 4-6 year old. 

The total cost for this course is $220 (sports vouchers accepted)

NOTE: Sports vouchers must be attached at the time of registration to be accepted. 

Our Little Tackers program is a unique opportunity to expand your child's knowledge, self confidence and skilsl in a fun and supportive environment. 

The Largs Bay Sailing club program for Little Tackers focuses on: 

• Game-based activities on and off the water
  • Keeping it fun and light hearted to open their minds to the adventurous side of sailing, while learning water safety and unique skills. 

• Non-competitive and social focus
  • During our Little Tackers program there are no competitions, we want to focus on the sport, while we support and guide them each individually. 

• Building resilience, independence and confidence 
  • Personal growth is invaluable to any child, which you will get to see as they progress. 

• Getting out on the ocean with our experienced instructors in a boat (pacer)
  • Fun, Fun, Fun... is what every student says! Out on the water, learning techniques, and watching other students progress through the stages.  

If your child chooses to move into our Tackers program after completeing Little Tackers, our instructors will help you navigate the best path forward to help ensure not only success, but long lasting friendships and memories.

ALGAL BLOOM

Largs Bay Sailing Club will follow the governments guidance on the current Algal Bloom situation, and how it relates to our activities. Participants are reminded that the decision to participate rests solely with the participant and/or their parents. While reasonable precautions will be made, Largs Bay Sailing Club can not be held responsible for any health effects as a result of the algae exposure. 

Course Overview
Fun and games at a Tackers Centre for 4-6 year-olds. Little Tackers is run in small groups of no more than 6 participants with close supervision from qualified Tackers Instructors. 

Course Prerequisites

• 4-6 years-old

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for 4-6 year-old children wanting to have fun at a Sailing Club and learn basic movement skills learned through play.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Little Tackers completion certificate.
